Artist Profile Mapping Across Platforms – October 22 Release

Hello iMusician Team,

I recently purchased expedited distribution for my EP, The River Carried Us , scheduled for release on October 22, 2026.

My previous album, In the Night’s Wood , was distributed through CD Baby, so I already have established artist profiles across the major streaming platforms.

After submitting my EP to iMusician, I selected my existing Spotify and Apple Music artist profiles in my iMusician artist settings. However, because the release was expedited, I’m concerned that the initial delivery may have occurred before these associations were updated.

Could someone from your distribution team please verify that my new EP has been correctly mapped to my existing artist identities across the streaming platforms?

If the original delivery needs correcting, I would appreciate having this coordinated centrally rather than submitting separate correction forms for each streaming service.

I contacted support by email and was directed here because my current plan does not include email support.

I’m happy to provide my release barcode, artist IDs, and any additional information privately.

Thank you for your assistance!

Hello @kwaligora,

Unfortunately we don’t have visibility over the DSP’s mapping at this stage. Please wait for the release date and if you notice any mapping mistake on specific shops, refer to this page: My music is on the wrong artist profile – what can I do? | iMusician

Best,

Hi Carlos,

Thank you for getting back to me. I understand that you can’t verify the DSP artist mapping at this stage.

My larger concern is that I don’t seem to have any way to reach iMusician support directly about this release. I paid approximately $84 for the Rockstar release with Express delivery, and then paid an additional fee through “Request changes to your release” while trying to address the artist-profile issue. However, I still haven’t been able to establish direct contact with someone who can look at the release.

My release is currently still showing as “In review” in iMusician, and nothing is appearing under Upcoming in my existing Spotify for Artists account. The release date is October 22, and I’m trying to make sure there is enough lead time for the release to reach Spotify and for me to submit an editorial playlist pitch before release.

Could you please put me in contact with someone who can look at the status of this release and the artist-profile issue?

I’m happy to pay for email support if that would give me a way to communicate directly with someone about the release.

Thank you very much for your help,

Kristen Waligora

Hey @kwaligora,

I understand your concern. I checked your account and on our end everything is running as expected:

  1. Your release was delivered to all DSPs (including Spotify) on September 28th.
  2. The status of your release is Approved

Now, regarding the Spotify artist mapping as I’ve said we unfortunately don’t have visibility over this. We’ve instructed them during the delivery to map it to the profile you specified during the order and now it’s in their hands.

Please wait for the release date and if you notice any mapping mistake on specific shops, refer to this page: My music is on the wrong artist profile – what can I do? | iMusician

Best,

Hi Carlos,

I have an important update regarding my October 22 release, The River Carried Us (UPC 4071624225687). I need your distribution team to urgently review the artist-profile mapping across all streaming platforms.

The chronology is particularly important:

  1. iMusician delivered my release to streaming platforms on September 28.
  2. On September 29, I received an email from iMusician identifying a newly created Spotify artist profile for my release, rather than my existing artist profile.
  3. Only after receiving that email did I go into my iMusician account and select my correct, existing Spotify and Apple Music artist profiles. Those changes were made after the original delivery.

On October 7, I contacted Spotify for Artists Support directly. Advisor Maybelle V investigated my release and confirmed that The River Carried Us is currently mapped to the incorrect, duplicate Spotify artist profile. This is why the release does not appear under Upcoming in my existing Spotify for Artists account.

Spotify advised that iMusician must submit a metadata update specifying my correct artist URI. The advisor indicated that changes generally appear within 24–72 hours after Spotify receives the updated metadata.

Spotify artist profiles:

Correct, existing profile:
spotify:artist:1q8aLyB5KAvr3QxmWZXtkv

Incorrect duplicate profile:
spotify:artist:4iJcPczlPaM8ZQZWRkXZH3

My concern extends beyond Spotify. Because I corrected my artist-profile selections in iMusician only after the September 28 delivery, I am concerned that the original delivery may also have created incorrect artist associations on Apple Music and other streaming platforms.

I understand that Spotify is the only platform where the incorrect mapping has been confirmed so far. However, I need iMusician to verify the artist associations across the entire distribution.

Could you please escalate this to your distribution team and arrange the following?

  1. Submit a metadata correction to Spotify as soon as possible, specifying my correct, existing artist URI.
  2. Verify that my release is associated with my existing Apple Music artist profile, rather than a newly created duplicate.
  3. Review the artist mapping across the other streaming platforms and arrange corrections wherever necessary.
  4. Confirm whether the artist-profile changes I made in my iMusician dashboard after September 29 were transmitted to the streaming services.
  5. Confirm when the corrected metadata has actually been submitted to the affected platforms.

My release date is October 22, and I am trying to preserve the opportunity to submit an editorial playlist pitch through Spotify for Artists before release. The delay is becoming increasingly concerning.

I’ve also had considerable difficulty establishing direct contact with iMusician support. I paid approximately $84 for Rockstar distribution with Express delivery, and subsequently paid an additional fee through “Request changes to your release” while trying to resolve this issue. However, I still haven’t been able to communicate directly with someone responsible for correcting the distribution metadata.

I am happy to pay for email support or another appropriate support option if that would allow me to communicate directly with your distribution team and resolve this promptly. Could you please explain how to arrange that, or connect me with someone who can handle these corrections?

I have screenshots of my conversation with Spotify Support confirming the incorrect mapping and their instructions, and I can provide them if needed.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance in escalating this urgently, given the approaching release date.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hello @kwaligora,

To ensure the DSPs receive the correct information, artist profiles need to be selected before the order is finalized. Because the existing profile wasn’t linked prior to submission, a new Spotify profile creation request was automatically triggered and is currently pending.

Here is where things currently stand:

  • Spotify: We are unable to submit a remapping request while a new profile creation is pending. Once the release is live on your release date, we can submit a profile remapping request to fix this.
  • Apple Music: Apple appears to have mapped the release correctly to your profile here: ‎Kristen Waligora - Apple Music

Next Steps: Please wait until the release date. Once it is live, check this guide for instructions on how to request a mapping fix with Spotify and any other DSP:

For future releases, please make sure to select your existing artist profiles during the submission process (not after) so everything maps smoothly from day one.

Best regards,

Hi Carlos,

Thank you for looking into this and confirming that Apple Music appears to be associated with my existing artist profile.

I understand that my Spotify profile needed to be linked before the order was finalized, and that a new-profile creation request is now pending. I also understand that your standard remapping procedure begins after the release goes live.

However, I would appreciate clarification on a few points and, if possible, assistance from someone on your distribution or technical support team.

  1. Is the inability to correct the Spotify artist association before October 22 a restriction imposed by Spotify, or a limitation of iMusician’s standard correction process? Spotify for Artists Support confirmed the incorrect association on October 7 and advised that the distributor submit a metadata update.

  2. Given that the release has already been delivered and the incorrect association is confirmed, could this case be escalated to your distribution team to determine whether a pre-release metadata correction or another solution is possible?

  3. The correction form you directed me to requires a Spotify release URL, which is not yet available. If a pre-release correction is not possible, will iMusician assist with the remapping after release, and is there anything that can be prepared or initiated beforehand?

  4. Can you confirm whether the existing artist-profile associations I added after submission were transmitted to any streaming platforms? I appreciate your confirmation regarding Apple Music, but I remain uncertain about the other services.

  5. I have asked twice about obtaining direct email support for this release, including whether I can purchase or add it to my existing Rockstar order. Could you please clarify whether this is possible and, if so, how to arrange it?

I recognize that you may not personally have access to all the technical details. If these questions are outside your area, I would be grateful if you could refer or escalate the case to someone who can address them.

My priority is simply to ensure that The River Carried Us is associated with my existing artist profiles, and to understand what steps can be taken before and after its October 22 release.

Thank you for your help.

Hello @kwaligora,

The next steps for you are to wait for the release date and then, once it is live, check this guide for instructions on how to request a mapping fix with Spotify and any other DSP: My music is on the wrong artist profile – what can I do? | iMusician

I’m going to close this thread now
