My current release is currently listed with the status “Under Review” in your system.
I noticed that EAN 4071624017367 has been assigned to the release in the dashboard. However, a check against the official GS1 registry revealed that this number is already registered and reserved globally for an automotive spare part (Diederichs side mirror).
Since this is a purely digital release and the data has not yet been transmitted to the stores, I kindly ask you to replace the incorrect EAN and assign a new, valid music EAN to my album before the review process is completed.
Artist name: r4nd0m1z4
Album title: random
Thank you very much for your help!
Best regards,
Gero König (r4nd0m1z4)
I checked with our delivery team, and they confirmed that the EAN assigned to your release is valid and does not need to be replaced. An EAN (GTIN) is simply a unique product identifier and is not required to be specific to music releases.
Public GS1 lookups may display information that does not reflect how identifiers are used across different industries or distribution systems. The fact that a search returns a non-music product does not mean the EAN assigned to your release is invalid.
Since your release is still under review, there is no issue with the assigned EAN, and no change is required. Your release will continue through the normal review and delivery process.
