Hello all - first time here. I am in the process of changing Distributors. I just found iMusician, and it seems to check most of the boxes for me. I need a little help, and thus my note here. I know the topic of AI Music is controversial, and for good reasons. But I have also found it a great tool for what I am doing. All comments welcome.
- My pertinent question is will iMusician accept my AI music, according to the process I use? I could not talk to iMusician directly except to or through you. Many of the new songs I am getting ready to release are AI assisted. And of course that needs defining. Sorry for the lengthy description, but here it is:
This is a summary to clarify the use of “Artificial Intelligence” (A.I.) to re-produce my existing recorded and copyrighted songs, and the “human” elements specifically involved in the final creations of each song. A detailed process flow outlining the human components and the AI components is available.
Goal : Re-Produce my original copyrighted songs with a professional sound, my desired instrumentation and composition, maintaining the original songs melodies and core structure.

Criteria for a successful “Output” from A.I.:

The output song is recognizable as my original song:
- Key melody lines and counterpoint melodies are carried forward and are easily recognizable within the A.I. version.
- Song structure is recognizable via rhythmic structures, key changes, other features that are carried forward from my original song.

Added instrumentation follow my prompts and controls varied within the A.I. tool (added cello, background piano, drums light or heavy as examples).

The song is as I envisioned and worked at creating.
Note: Each song that I deem as successful required well over 100 created versions from A.I. for each song, and a plethora of control and style prompt changes to generate the desired “Output”.
My Definition of AI Assisted:
Every song in which I use AI (currently Suno), this is the summary process:

Write and record my original song at my home studio. I am an acoustic guitar player, and add acoustic lead lines, melodies, chiming, add synth and midi tracks for other instrumentation such as strings, bass, drums/percussion, other, including Logic Session Player(s) to my songs.

Copyright the song via sound recording with the U.S. copyright office (all granted).

Prep the song for A.I. Input . This may include the following steps: Shorten song, piece together key song structures such as melody, key changes, rhythm patterns, chordal structures, key parts, remove elements as required.

The steps above do not contain any AI elements.

“Input” the above song (upload) into the A.I. tool for “Re-Production”. This is the first step in using A.I. - upload my original recorded and copyrighted song (the “Input”) into the A.I. tool to provide the foundation for my desired sound and instrumentation (the “Output”). In the process I use to create these AI assisted songs, without the original input song loaded into A.I., the output of the song would not exist. The “Output” is based entirely upon the “Input” of my song, and the instructions I deem as allowable modifications. The melody lines, instrumentation, song structure, chordal elements, rhythm patterns, sounds, key changes, and even the basis for back up piano and other instrumentation including solos – all would not exist without the input of the human created original song.

Instruct A.I. what I want as the “Output” (add instrumentation, style, etc.), a lengthy paragraph. The controls are purposely set to heavily maintain the original song fed into the A.I. tool. These controls and instructions are modified approximately 50 times over the course of creating 100+ versions until the “Output” is to my satisfaction according to the success criteria described earlier.

Put the “Output” song into my DAW (Logic Pro). I then take the “Output” song, (up to) 8 stems (tracks), break them out further (drums), repair portions A.I. stems, add additional instrumentation, EQ, effects, work on the stereo field and mix to obtain my desired final results. Some of the songs end up over 20 tracks from the original 6-8 tracks SUNO provided.

Master the song for Distribution using Logic Pro .
- Again - all comments welcome. But I need to know from iMusician if my music will be accepted for Distribution by iMusician. I realize they will be tagged as AI.
