Hey @chalkos,

Apple removed your release from all their shops because it contains prohibited generic artist names. Here’s Apple’s style guide for more details: Apple Music Style Guide

hi Carlos,
why don’t i get a notification from iMusician about it ?
And there a plenty of artiste named Pink Noise on Apple music so i don’t understand.

Is it possible to put a different Artist Name just for Apple music ?
We could do with: Gilles Schürch & Théophile Blanchon

Hey @chalkos,

  1. Because we don’t get a notification from Apple about it.
  2. No, the artist name cannot be different on a specific platform. The metadata must be the same across all DSPs.

ok, so what do you suggest ?

You can either:

  1. Takedown your release and recreate it under a new artist name that’s in line with Apple’s stylistic guidelines (but that’ll apply to all DSPs and your streams will be lost) or;
  2. You leave it as it is and your music won’t be available on Apple Music.

Ok, thank you.
Can i do an Appeal? (and if yes how to do it) because there is some Artist named like that on Apple music, so why are we not able to do it ?
I could also redo a release just for apple music with an other name ?

→ No you cannot. These are Apple’s guidelines and they made it clear to us that they rejected your release because of the artist name you chose. I’m really sorry that may not go your way, but that’s a definitive decision you must accept.

→ No because you cannot attribute different ISRCs and metadata to the same audio files simultaneously.
