CID question in distro processing step

As distro process progresses, the following bulleted points are on the checklist:

  • The track has not already been distributed for CID by another distributor
  • The track is not an alternate version of a track already distributed for CID by the same artist (instrumental, acoustic, edit, self-remix, etc)

Does that mean EVER, even for a release that was taken down along with its corresponding CID, or currently distributed only? Thanks for any help!

Hey @Newb,

Content ID monetization can only be done by one distributor at a time, so if you currently have any active CID, you must first make sure it’s switched off by your previous distributor. Only then will we be able to take over the monetization on your behalf

Thanks, Carlos! Curious if the release’s release page has the wrong title, is there a way to fix it before I start sharing links as they come in? It was my fault btw, because I changed the title after the page was created. Sorry about that!
Thanks again!!

Hi @Carlos. Is it possible to nudge YouTube (and YT Music) to remove my tracks? I spoke with my PRO, BMI, and they suggested I change some meta data and despite completing the steps on my end to takedown the release it’s still hanging on at YT. It came down immediately from Spotify, but my instinct tells me to reach out regarding YT. EAN 4069493359961 Thanks so much for any assistance!

Hey @Newb,

Each platfom has different processing times. Takedowns generally take 2-4 weeks to be effective on all shops, so if it’s not been removed by YouTube yet, it’s just a matter of time

@Carlos if I join at the AMPLIFY+ level could I change my PII/copyright name on that track, even if that meant re-releasing it with the updated info to overwrite what’s not coming down? Thanks again.

Hello @Newb

I tag the iMusician support @Carlos to give you more info about this new request that I must said I do not understand fully what it is exactly.

@Newb What do you mean by “change the copyright name” ?

I don’t want my legal name/PII in the description box/to be searchable on YT. I am continually targeted by a hacking syndicate and they use any info for social engineering, spam, etc… My music isn’t in search results on YT searching by artist name, just my personal name in the description box. The only one’s possibly looking for that are these criminals.

@Newb that’s not optional I’m afraid. Only legal names are allowed in the contribution credits.
