Classical music on Instagram / Facebook

Hello,

On June 21, 2025, I released my album digitally (EAN 4069493349092), including Facebook and Instagram among the chosen platforms. I was kindly informed by @Carlos that “Meta rejected the release because it’s classical music, which they no longer accept due to their updated copyright policies.”

However, my classical musician colleagues are able, in fact, to use their music on these platforms.

One exemple among many here : https://www.instagram.com/le_consort?igsh=anp5d2ZuZHB4dGN3

How can this difference be explained?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi @Neoblaste,

Thanks for your message and for pointing this out!

You’re right — some classical music is still available on Meta platforms. The issue likely depends on the specific agreements each distributor has with Meta, and unfortunately, at the moment, Meta is rejecting classical releases from our side due to their updated copyright policies.

To be transparent: we don’t expect the situation to change for traditional classical music anytime soon. That said, for related genres like contemporary classical — where there’s no conflict with existing copyright catalogs — we’re actively working to unlock the situation and are hopeful we’ll see progress soon.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as we have any updates.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding!

Best,
