The process to release a classical track is simply painful. After several issues with proper titling et al. Now our cover art seems to NOT be correct. We are releasing an aria track as a single. The title of the aria is what we desire on the cover along with the artist’s name. Now we are informed that the full name of the aria (including composer, opera etc) must match the cover. Is this necessary? How can this process to deal with these issues be sped up. Our release date is coming up now as well. Sorry but this is turning into a ridiculous and overly complex situation to simply release a single track. Can someone help us from imusician and resolve this issue asap?
I understand that, but classical music requires a specifically formatted metadata. Although the aria is titled O mio bambino caro, it is part of the work titled Gianni Schicchi, SC 88 composed by Giacomo Puccini.
Since the release title must follow the format Composer: Name of Work in Key, Catalog Number, the title of your release is Giacomo Puccini: Gianni Schicchi, SC 88 (please take the time to read this article if you haven’t already: How do I distribute a classical music release? | iMusician)
Since the title of your release must match between the metadata and the artwork, the title that must appear on your artwork is Giacomo Puccini: Gianni Schicchi, SC 88.
We understand that this may be frustrating regarding your intended artstic choices, but metadata formatting is more important if your want your music to be accepted by the stores you selected. Our team is here to give you instructions to make sure your music gets delivered successfully, so now I will kindly ask you to make the corrections we requested and upload a new artwork with the release title Giacomo Puccini: Gianni Schicchi, SC 88 ![]()
Best regards,
Thanks for your information.
I have another question on the same line. We have an EP scheduled for release that will contain 3 arias. How is the cover art handled in that situation? The name of the EP does NOT contain the names of the arias. Thanks and Plz advise.
Are all 3 arias taken from the same opera?
