Correct metadata given turn up wrong at streaming sites

Bandname and performers are correct given during upload - and still are when looking at the release information. But it turns up WRONG at the streaming sites. They told me it´s only you (iMusician) as a distributor that can solve this issue with a Metadata update. So… how do I proceed?

With ”help” from your AI:

Hi, our release metadata is correct in the iMusician dashboard, but it appears wrong on the streaming services.
Release details:
• Artist name: BaMbAm (spelling is consistent in the ”dashboard”)
• Release title:BaMbAm @ Studio Blue
• UPC/barcode: EAN 4069493946277
• Label: [label, if any]
Issue:
• The metadata shown on the stores does not match the metadata we entered during upload.
• We need a metadata update to correct the release on the streaming platforms.
Links:
• iMusician release page: https://app.imusician.pro/library/releases/4428698
• Store links showing the mismatch:

• Tidal: BaMbAm @ Studio Blue by BamBam on TIDAL
• Wrong artist linked to release. Artist name schould always be BaMbAm (as given in the dashboard) NOT Bambam or BamBam . Producer and Mixer should alwas be Anders Olsén NOT ”Aners” or ”Olsen” in som places. This is also given in the release dashboard.

Spotify:

Here the artist name is correct spelled BaMbAm in both album information and tracks.
But there is no track credits displayd → totally empty,
The artist linked were wrong - but I have corrected that through their ”artist page”.

Apple music: ‎BaMbAm @ Studio Blue - EP – Album av BAMBAM! – Apple Music
Seems that wrong artist is linked. Spelling is wrong. And I cannot see any credits.
Under release titel there is written ”BAMBAM!” in red. (is that their way of telling something is wrong?

Qobuz:
https://open.qobuz.com/album/vp2v49d1hzeyr

Here the artist name suddenly turns up as BamBam - and is linked to wrong artist.
Even if it´s also written ”Released by iMusician | BaMbAm 16 June 2026 • 4 Tracks • 17m 40s”

In credits it´s another mix of wrong data. Here suddenly the Producer turns up as ”Aners Olsén” and the mixer as ”Anders Olsen” - it should be always and only ”Anders Olsén” - as given from me in the release dashboard.

How is this mixed missmatch possible when correct data is given here at the release dashboard?
And as you can see it alters from site to site. There are different ”wrongs” at every streaming service.

URGENT: Metadata mismatch across streaming services

Hi, we already posted the full details below, but this issue is still unresolved and needs urgent review. The release metadata is correct in the iMusician dashboard, but several stores show wrong artist/credits. Please escalate and update the metadata as soon as possible.

@Carlos @Fabiola This is extremely urgent. It has been days without a reply. My Rockstar release is live with critical metadata errors: WRONG ARTIST profile and MISSPELLED LEGAL NAMES. And there is different ”wrongs” at different sites. This affects my royalties and legal rights. Please open a private ticket immediately so I can send you the corrections! (every post is correct in the release dashboard)

Hey @Ogjort,

Don’t worry, there’s no need to panic like this

We did deliver your release with the exact same metadata you entered in the dashboard, no issue there. Now, when it comes to the DSPs they did indeed make mapping errors as your name (although cased in a specific way) is still very generic. Other homonyms already exist and this causes the stores to struggle with the profile attribution. Again, this is a common issue when artists use generic names.

Please refer to this page and fill out the corresponding forms so we can submit a correction request to the affected stores: My music is on the wrong artist profile – what can I do? | iMusician

You can use the same forms for the contributors.

Regarding the displaying of credits, this is at the DSP’s discretion. Some list every roles and names in details, others don’t even show them. That’s not something we have any control of as a distributor.

Thank You for reply. Spotify offers manual correction trough their “artist page”. So that one I´ve corrected. Same is said also från Apple, Tidal and Qobuz. But so far no action or replies from them. The artist name confusion is understandable but misspelling of “legal names” is not. My name shows up as “Aners Olsén”, “Aners Olsen”, Anders Olsen, and the correct “Anders Olsén” in a mix of versions even at the same site. And as You noticed, every entry on your dashboard is correct. I will check out your form suggested and we will se…

I do not understand the form suggested. And it only disply Spotify and Apple music. Could you help me out with all this? The artists (band) ISNI is 0000 0005 3045 7156

If you take a closer look at the info you provided during the order, you will see that you indeed entered the incorrect spelling in the Artist name field of the contributor Anders Olsén.

Since producers are shown with their artist names, this explains the mismatch you’re describing. If you need to make modifications to your release, please refer to this page: Can I make modifications to my release? | iMusician

No, the forms are shown for more than these two stores:

Qobuz form doesn´t accept given URL

And what is this??? " If you are using our AMPLIFY, Starter or Rockstar plan, you will have to pay in order to activate the messaging tool and request a modification to our team. Our detailed pricing is available here. — Do I have to PAY once more for a paid release to get it correct “out there” when EVERYTHING provided by me is correct from the start!

And… " 1. Go to Library > Releases.
2. Select the release you want to modify.
3. Under Music Distribution, click Manage.

From there, click on Request Change. You’ll be redirected to our messaging tool where you can request the modification to our team." But I DO NOT want a change. Every entry is correct. But the legal names turns up wrong at the sites.

I´ve submitted (and paid) for a change for producers artist name to correspond to legal name. Aners Olsén → Anders Olsén. But how could I spot that misstake when i look at the release when I see:

But the BIG problem is that my legal name shows up differently on the sites. Even on the same site. It alters like Aners Olsén, Anders Olsen, Aners Olsen and… the correct: Anders Olsén. Is there a form for that aswell? And I added the ISNI number 0000 0005 3045 7156 to the main artist information. Will that be noticed?

That’s because you’re providing the wrong URL. The right format looks like this:

No it isn’t, I’ve shown you proof of this here

The URL:s were copied directely from the Qobuz site. And that worked fine with all the other sites. I guessed and managed to change Qobuz to be accepted. I´ve changed the producers artistname issue, explaining why I did not notice that. But where is my legal name wrong in my entries? I will of course change that aswell. But I can´t spot any errors.

The correction request for your legal name was sent out to the shops, it should be fixed within the next 4-5 days.

Regarding the artist profile mapping, it’ll take a it longer (2-3 weeks).

Kind regards,
