Difference between sales&royalties and payout

Hi everybody,

I do not understand the difference between Sales & Royalties and the amount of money shown in the payout section. For example: Sales and Royalties shows 90 EUR and in the payout section it allows 8,70 EUR for payout. Why can’t I payout 90 EUR? Can somebody please explain for a noob?

Hey @Tomson, thanks for reaching out!

When we receive sales data from the shops, we put 2 things at your disposal on the dashboard:

  • Your sales report which you can download to view the detail of your sales for a specific month;
  • Your revenue which we add to your account in the form of cash credit that you can later withdraw by requesting a payout.

The total of sales you’ve generated since you opened your iMusician account is the amount you will see under Revenue > Statements > Sales & royalties. This corresponds to the amount of cash credit that was added to your dashboard since your music started generating revenue.

There are multiple reasons that can explain why the amount you see under Sales & Royalties doesn’t correspond to the amount of cash credit you currently have in your balance :point_down:

  1. The cash credit in your dashboard was used to pay for invoices (Account > Profile > Account settings > Use Cash Credit for open invoices)
  2. Some of it was deducted because you have received some Spotify penalties
  3. Part of your cash credit was converted to promo credit because you didn’t log into your iMusician account for a whole year.
