I uploaded and finished a release 2 month ago and it is still in quality control. If I ask the imusician support if it would please be possible to proceed with the release such that I can do Spotify promotion, they tell me that the release date is end of August and that they would have to first process releases with an earlier release date.
As far as I read, it is definitely advisable to start pitching a song at Spotify up to 4 month before release date. That is not possible if imusician does only start with the quality control 2 weeks before release date.
Also, if I upload and finish a release 3 or 4 months before release date, I have my reasons to do that. I expect imusician to process my order before the orders that come in later than my order date no matter what the release date is.
How can I assure, in future, that a release can be pitched for 2 or 4 months at Spotify? I mean if I upload a release 6 months before release date, will it then be for 5 and a half month in quality control cause imusician does not prioritize it earlier cause of the release date?
No, but the rate at which our team can check releases depends on their availability and workload. We always check Standard deliveries within 2 business weeks after the order was placed (at the latest), but when the workload allows it this process is way faster.
In your case, if you’ve already been told to wait, then that’s all I recommend you do
The release you ordered two months ago (on 28.05.2025, EAN 4069493330052) was delivered to the DSPs on 18.06.2025. That’s exactly 14 business days after you’ve ordered it.
Your releases are checked and delivered within 2 business weeks after you’ve placed your order (if you select Standard delivery) but that processing time also depends on our team’s availability and workload.
