Musicians’ names are often pseudonyms. For example, my legal name is Enrico Francesco Santulli, but I’m known in the music scene as Chicco Santulli. So, which name should I use when listing the musicians – the legal name or the pseudonym?
What is the difference between “vocals” and “vocals featuring”?
Am I required to include the names of the two members of my band on the cover?
Full legal names must be provided in the contributors section as well as for the performers section of each track.
“Vocals” refers to the main artist or group performing the primary vocals on a track. It’s the main voice (or voices) that we hear throughout a song. “Featured vocals” refers to a guest appearance by another artist who is singing a verse, the chorus, or a specific section of the track.
The artist name displayed on the artwork must match exactly what you’ve entered in the release metadata. For example, if you’ve entered a band name, only that band name should appear on the artwork. If you’ve entered two artists names, then these two names have to be on the artwork.
Thank you very much for the answer, but what’s about pseudonyms? We are two musician with two pseudonyms, where we can write them? We are known with our pseudonyms and not with our legal names! Eventually can we change them after the publication?
Thank you
Chicco Santulli
Unfortunately you cannot use your pseudonyms in the song credits pertaining to composition, authorship and instruments performed. Only legal names are allowed in those fields (this cannot be changed after publication).
