IDAGIO-only distribution for contemporary classical music

Hi iMusician team!

I’m an independent contemporary classical composer interested in using the Rockstar pay-per-release plan to distribute a single exclusively to IDAGIO. The recording is already scheduled for release through DistroKid on November 6, 2026.

I have a few questions before proceeding:

  1. Eligibility: Does IDAGIO accept orchestral recordings produced entirely using licensed virtual instruments, without live performers? How should performer, orchestra, and conductor metadata be handled?

  2. Distribution: Can I use iMusician exclusively for IDAGIO while keeping DistroKid for all other platforms?

  3. Metadata: Can I reuse my existing ISRC and UPC, and retain the original release date even if the IDAGIO release happens later?

  4. Pricing: Is Rockstar sufficient for this, without recurring fees?

  5. Timeline: How long does IDAGIO distribution typically take?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello @eborjian,

That’s up to the platform to decide. We can deliver the content to them, and then they’ll decide if they accept it or not. Here’s everything you need to know about classical releases metadata: How do I distribute a classical music release? | iMusician

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

Usually a couple of weeks, but it depends. Sometimes it can take up to a month.

Best,
