Inquiry About Music Distribution Services for Existing Labels on Beatport

Dear Imusician Team and Community,

I am reaching out to inquire about your music distribution services. Currently, our labels, Eclisse Records and Sunshine Beat Records, are active on Beatport through Ditto Music. Due to repeated issues and unprofessional conduct from Ditto Music, we are seeking a more reliable distribution partner.

Our main issue with Ditto stems from the release of a cover song by a well-known American artist. Despite holding a valid mechanical license from Song Licence and providing a document certifying the originality of all our recorded elements (instrumental and vocal), ensuring full compliance with the original song’s structure and melody, Ditto has continuously blocked our release.

According to Song Licence, Ditto’s system uses an “overly aggressive algorithm”, which repeatedly flags our upload. At the same time, Ditto’s support team keeps confirming that our release is fully compliant, yet the issue remains unresolved since October 2024. This situation has highlighted their lack of professionalism and an evasive support system that appears to be managed by bots posing as human agents.

We are interested in understanding how your platform can assist us in:

• Transferring our existing labels to your service while maintaining our presence on Beatport.

• The process for distributing cover songs, considering that we already hold all necessary licenses and legal documentation.

• The general procedure for releasing new tracks under our labels on Beatport through your platform.

• Any associated costs, revenue splits, and contractual obligations.

We are looking for a transparent and efficient service that ensures our releases are processed without unnecessary delays due to poorly managed AI-based screening. Your assistance and detailed information on the above points would be greatly appreciated.

  1. We will need the links to your label pages on Beatport. We will initiate a request to your previous distributor through Beatport to complete the label switch.
  2. I’ve sent you a private message so you can share the licenses with us.
  3. Apart from doing the label switch, there isn’t a particular process to distribute your music on Beatport.
