Hallo zusammen,

ich plane ein klassisches Stück zu releasen. Das Stück habe ich mit meinem Instrument aufgenommen und der Komponist lebt noch bzw. ist noch nicht seit mehr als 70 Jahren tot. Reicht es, wenn ich den Release als Cover markiere und den Komponisten aufliste? Führt Ihr dann die Einnahmen direkt an den Komponisten weiter oder was muss ich in solchen Fällen berücksichtigen?

If the composition is not in the public domain, then it is still protected by copyright. In such cases, mark your track as a cover and add the names of the composer and publisher(s).

Streaming platforms will redirect the publishing revenue revenue to the rights owners through PROs, so you don’t have to worry about that :slight_smile:
