Hi, is it possible to be removed from the OAC program ?
Hello @thenightside
Could you give more info about your channel, please ?
I tag the iMusician support @Carlos to inform you.
A moderator and indie techno musician
https://www.youtube.com/@thenightsideofficial this is my channel
thank you
Hey @thenightside, let me check with the team
Update:
It is possible for us to ask YouTube to “de-merge” the OAC. Do you confirm that this is what you want to do @thenightside ?
Hi @Carlos yes please, thats what I would like to do
so my channel should go back to a normal channel and the topic one should be seperate
Ok, we’ll send the request to YouTube ![]()
Thanks so much
Hey @thenightside,
Here’s what our team told us:
We have submitted a request to YouTube. They might ask more about why they are choosing to demerge from OAC or even discard the request.
Can you please tell me more about your decision and why you no longer want the OAC? Keep it mind that it may not be possible in the end.
Hi Carlos, thanks for dong this hopefully they will accept it. It’s because I would like to move my channel over to a new google account. A normal channel can do it but an OAC cannot. I do know that you can be removed from the OAC as I know people that have done it successfully so there shouldn’t be any logical reason why they would decline it
Thanks again
Thanks for the clarification @thenightside, I’ll keep you posted.
Update: YouTube just confirmed the request was approved:
We successfully processed your request to disable the OAC features on the artist’s channel. You’ll see that most of the OAC features (e.g. auto-generated shelves, music note icon) will disappear but please allow 7-10 days for the changes to fully propagate.
Best regards,
Hi @Carlos, thank you for getting this done for me it’s much appreciated.
