Longer release time when promoting on Spotify

Just wondering: why is the release time longer (by 2-3weeks) when the option to promote on Spotify selected? It seems odd that the release is held up for all the other platforms when the option only really effects the Spotify release, and there is no other apparent benefit… There was no rationale to this when uploading the release - it just forces the release date to 2-3weeks further away. The other option (can’t remember exactly, promoted by iMusician?) is longer again - no info on what it achieves or why the delay in necessary…

Hello @FatTony

May be it is a standard process for all ?

I tag the iMusician support @Carlos to give you more info.

Hey @FatTony that’s because there’s time needed for the playlist curators to evaluate your pitch proposal. Same with our own editorial pitching, our team needs time to listen to the tracks you submit, so that’s why it takes longer to release than if you don’t select the pitching options

Thanks (Carlos and A2D) for responding. I’m still not fully understanding what purpose the delay serves in the evaluation process, as I don’t have visibility of the process or see any effect in that time. I was seeking clarity on this in order to make an informed decision on whether to select this option at the time of submitting for release, or to select “no” and attempt to promote through the Spotify Artist services (usually at a cost), while having a 3-week earlier release. I appreciate the iMusician curators have many customers and that each job requires some time, so am not criticizing, only seeking to understand the process to make informed decisions… Thanks again for your time and reply to my question. Tony.
