No artist profil on Youtube and Youtube Music

Hello,

Our track is released on YouTube music but we can’t click on our artist name, so I think we don’t have an artist profile on YT music.
band name : “Rîves”
Song name : “Villers Vicomte”
( YouTube Music )

Additionnally, on YouTube our track is released by a channel called “Release - Topic” without our name
Link to the song on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uH7HawC-lw
Link to the wrong YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAHQkhH7Sov82KYiRbIiJKg

Aren’t those two problems linked ? Could you create an artist profile for us both on YouTube and YouTube music ?

By the way we already have a YouTube Channel, here: https://www.youtube.com/@lesondelaube
We plan on releasing Music Videos on it, and would like our released music and video to be on the same channel. From what I understand, it means we have to have an Official Artist Channel, and to have an Official Artist Channel we need to suscribe to the Amplify plan. Can you guarantee me that, if we subscribe to the Amplify plan, we’ll be assured to have an Official Artist Channel ? As well as 2 free release if I got that well too ?

Sorry for the long message it was quite complicated to figure all of this out ! Thanks for your help on all platforms and especially @Carlos who seems to solve all our problems !

Hey @Rives,

That’s correct, both cases are related. Basically, YouTube Music is a mirror of what’s happening on YouTube, just with a different interface.

When we deliver tracks to YouTube Music, they also end up on YouTube under an auto-generated Topic channel. At some point, this Topic channel will be converted into an “Artist - Topic” channel once you generate enough traction on the platform with your music. Only YouTube can decide on the creation of an “Artist - Topic” channel so there is unfortunately nothing we can do at this level.

However, once your Artist - Topic channel is created, not only you will be able to click on your artist name in YouTube Music, but you will also have the option of requesting an Official Artist Channel. This is essentially a merge between your Artist - Topic channel and your personal channel (in your case, this one), which allows you to have everything in one place. There a few criterias to fulfill in order to request an OAC, I’ll let you check this page for more info.

Hope this helps!

Wow, kuddos to YouTube to make things overly complicated :exploding_head:

Okay, I hope that it will not take too much time for youtube to convert the topic channel in an artist -topic one. I read somewhere that they used to automatically convert them past 30 days, would have been more simple.

Yeah it definitely helps, I did check this page but I wanted to be sure I got things right about your Amplify plan, did I concerning the 2 releases included in the plan ?

Hey @Rives,

With any AMPLIFY subscription plan, you can request an OAC (however only YouTube can decide whether or not you are eligible to get one, so it’s not guaranteed). Regarding the releases, that’s correct: you can create 2 releases per year at no additional cost as it’s included with the AMPLIFY subscription plan
