Payment Problems

Hello

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to bring to your attention a discrepancy in my streaming revenue. This month, I received only €19, even though my number of streams and monthly listeners has remained stable at approximately 50,000 listeners per month.

I am surprised by this significant drop and would like to understand what might explain it. Could you please verify if everything has been correctly accounted for in the calculation of my revenue? Is there a possibility of an error or technical issue?

I sincerely appreciate your assistance and remain at your disposal should you need any additional information or documents for verification purposes.

Looking forward to your response, and wishing you a great day.

Best regards, Grégoire

Hello @Gregoirejokic,

Thanks for reaching out!

The numbers that you see on your sales report correspond to what was communicated to us by the platforms. Since we do not take part in the calculation of your revenue, we cannot tell you how these numbers were established, only that they are the final data we have access to.

It’s important to understand that there is no direct correlation between your monthly listeners and the revenue you earn. All shops review your streams carefully before sending us the money and they will demonetise any non-organic stream that they detect.

Simply put, if you have 50’000 listeners but the majority of it is non-organic, then your revenue will be lower.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I understand what you’re saying, but my Spotify for Artists application shows that I had an average of 3,000 streams per day in August 2024. This adds up to roughly 93,000 streams for the month. Given this data, I don’t understand how the revenue reflects only 9€.

Could you please explain this discrepancy? And if it’s not possible for you to provide further clarification, could you guide me on how to better understand or verify this?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Gregoire

Hello again @Gregoirejokic,

As I already explained; if most of your 93’000 streams are non-organic or deemed “invalid” by Spotify, it doesn’t matter how many daily streams you have. What matters in the end is the amount of legit streams that Spotify validates and converts into revenue.

In your case, out of the 93k streams, Spotify seems to have only validated 9€ worth of revenue and they’ve adjusted the sales data accordingly (that’s the discrepancy you see) !
