Pre-release on Spotify

Hi there,

We’ve used iMusician to distribute an EP last year, but somehow missed the whole playlist placement option. Plus we didn’t have a Spotify for Artists subscription yet.

  • Once the song is uploaded on iMusician, is it possible at all to activate a release directly on Spotify for Artists, and not through the iMusician platform?
  • Is it possible to submit a song without a release date in order to activate the release directly via Spotify for Artists?
  • If so, can you please provide a step-by-step?
  • Can you please also explain how to add secondary/other artists to a given profile?

I guess you would like to pitch your release to one of Spotify’s editorial playlist, right? If so, here you can find a detailed explanation.
What do you mean by secondary artist? Each artist profile is individual. Please give me a few more details and I?ll be happy to follow up :slight_smile:

Hello @Wolfball, it is not possible to distribute your release from Spotify For Artist, the distribution is done by us and therefore you must enter:

  1. release date
  2. if you want picthing, pleaseprovide a release date taking into account the 14 days needed for picthing
  3. secondary artists can be added defined by their roles:

  4. If you do not have an Spotify For Artist, we will create it for you. Just click on “No” at the question if you have an artist profile after entering the artist name.
