Question about Revenues Split – Collaborator Payment

am setting up the revenue split for one of my releases on iMusician. I followed the instructions and added my collaborator’s name, but I would like to clarify:
1. Does iMusician handle payments directly to collaborators, or do I need to distribute the earnings manually?
2. If I am responsible for making the payments, how can I access a detailed report to ensure I send the correct amount?
3. Is there a way to add a separate payment method for each collaborator?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hey @Markino, thanks for reaching out!

  1. You need to distribute the earnings manually, we don’t trigger the payouts automatically.
  2. Your sales data is being uploaded to your iMusician dashboard (Revenue > Statements) on a monthly basis and there you will see the amounts calculated based on the splits you set.
  3. Yes, you can add multiple PayPal/bank accounts in Revenue > Bank details > Add payout account

I would like to request a clarification regarding point 3 of this thread, specifically about the question:

“Is there a way to add a different payment method for each collaborator?”

The official reply was:

“Yes, you can add multiple PayPal accounts…”

However, this answer seems to imply that collaborators can have their own payment method assigned (PayPal, bank account, etc.), or that from within the iMusician platform — even manually — I could execute the payment order and iMusician would send the money to each account.

As far as I understand, adding multiple PayPal accounts only affects my own payout methods, not those of the collaborators. That’s why I would appreciate an explicit clarification:

Is it possible to assign a different payment method to each collaborator so that I can execute the payout order and iMusician sends the money to each account?

or, alternatively:

Is the Revenue Split system only for calculating percentages, and all collaborator payments must be handled manually outside of iMusician?

A clear answer would help both me and other users who may have the same question in the future.

Thanks!

hi @Eneroscu , please take a look at this FAQ where you should find the answers to your questions:

As the iMusician account owner, you are in charge of handling the payouts to your collaborators.

Our Revenue Splits features takes care of calculating the percentages, you take care of requesting the payouts to the corresponding accounts that are registered on your iMusician account (yours or your collaborator’s)

Thank you for your help in understanding how the Revenue Split works, since unfortunately the iMusician documentation uses wording that can create some doubts. I’m leaving here a short summary in case someone else has the same question in the future:

-The Revenue Split system is only used to calculate the percentages corresponding to each collaborator.

-Payment orders in iMusician are the responsibility of the account owner.

-The account owner can use different payout methods (PayPal accounts, bank accounts, etc.) to send payments both to themselves and to collaborators.
