I am contacting you regarding Yandex and UMA, as I am looking to move my entire catalog over from TuneCore who have become very unreliable.
A couple questions: do you guys still deliver music to Yandex and UMA, and specifically Russia? If so, are you experiencing any issues processing royalty payments from them? If not, how often can Yandex/UMA royalty payouts be expected - is it every quarter, every month, every half a year?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for getting back to me.
I realize I might be asking for information that cannot be disclosed, but I was wondering if you could further explain iMusician’s mechanisms of obtaining streaming royalties from Yandex that originate in Russia?
I’m only asking because most of the distribution services I have used in the past 2-3 years either face severe delays in royalty payments, or have ceased distribution to Yandex/UMA altogether. Do you guys still have reliable ways of receiving/processing/paying out royalties from those partners? Thanks!
Well, as I said before it depends entirely on them. I’m not familiar with the current Yandex/UMA situation in particular, but I can confirm that it is possible (just like with any other DSP) that the royalties take more than the usual 4 months to be handed to us.
To answer your question: the ways we receive royalties from all the DSPs we work with are reliable, but then the time it takes to receive them depends entirely on each individual shop
