Hi everyone,
I’m interested in using iMusician as my distributor to release my first songs, but I have a couple of questions about how the YouTube Topic channel and the Official Artist Channel work.
My plan is to upload each song to my own YouTube channel together with a lyric video, and eventually, for some songs, I may also upload an official music video.
From what I understand, iMusician will create a Topic channel where the corresponding Art Tracks are uploaded. If I later request an Official Artist Channel (OAC), what happens to the lyric videos and the Art Tracks?
Specifically, if my channel already contains the lyric videos and the Topic channel contains the Art Tracks for the same songs:
Will the lyric videos and the Art Tracks somehow be merged under the Official Artist Channel?
Will the views from the lyric videos and the Art Tracks be combined, or will there still be two separate versions of the same song (one lyric video and one Art Track), each with its own view count?
My second question is about the subscription.
As I understand it, if I stop paying the iMusician subscription, my releases will remain available on digital streaming platforms, including YouTube Music.
In that case, what happens to the Official Artist Channel? Does it remain active like the releases themselves, or is the Official Artist Channel removed once the subscription ends?
Thank you very much for your help!
