Questions before signing up to Amplify +

Dear iMusician Team,

I hope you’re well.

We are an independent label looking for a reliable and proactive distributor, and iMusician has come highly recommended. Before signing up for the Amplify+ plan, we’d appreciate some clarification on a few key matters that are important to us:

  1. Handling of Fraud Flags / False Positives:
We represent an up-and-coming artist with significant potential and strong connections in television, radio, film, and press. Her promotional efforts are likely to generate natural spikes in streaming. In the event that Spotify’s automated fraud detection system flags a track as suspicious (a false positive), how does iMusician handle this?

Is there a process in place to assess the situation before removing a track?

Will we have the opportunity to provide context or evidence of legitimate promotion?

  1. Communication and Timely Response:
If a red flag is raised, can we speak to someone directly? Is there a dedicated support team for resolving these issues quickly? Unfortunately, we’ve experienced significant delays with other distributors (e.g., TuneCore), which caused disruption during active campaigns, so timely communication is vital to us.

  2. Pre-Submission of Campaign Plans:
Is it possible to submit our promotional campaign schedule or expected traffic sources in advance to help avoid misunderstandings or false flags?

  3. General Support and Accessibility:

What is your average response time for urgent matters under the Amplify+ plan?

Do you offer phone or live chat support for labels, or is everything handled via email?

  1. Royalty Splits and Contributor Metadata:
We’d also like to confirm how contributor roles and royalty splits are handled—do these affect payout routing or are they simply metadata for DSP display?

We are ready to move quickly but want to make sure iMusician is the right fit for our artist’s needs. Looking forward to your reply and thank you in advance for your time.

Warm regards,
Euan Rafferty

hi @SamD please don’t post your question in different topics, this does not help :v:

Hey @SamD,

Thanks for your questions

  1. No, we cannot prevent or challenge Spotify’s decision regarding fraud detection. If you were to notice any suspicious playlists that included you music, you must report them to Spotify directly through their dedicated form.

  2. There is a support team available Mon-Fri during business hours. You can reach out to us either via email if you’re subscribed to one of our paid plans or here on the Community Forum if you’re on Starter.

  3. Yes you can send us additional documents if you feel that they’re relevant.

  4. 24-48 business hours but that can vary depending on our team’s availabitily and workload. We do offer 20min personal consutlations via Google Meets, as explained here: How to Contact iMusician? | iMusician

  5. You’ll find all the info on Revenue Splits here. The payouts must be requested manually. Revenue Splits are not related to your tracks metadata, this must be filled in during the order process.

Best regards,

If Spotify raises a red flag of potential fraud streaming will you automatically take down the track like TuneCore or do you email the artist first to find out what’s going on?

If Spotify detects fraudulent streaming, there will be penalties being applied to your sales revenue. In very severe cases, Spotify may proceed directly with a takedown.
