Hello,
My album “Mad Alien - Qui habet aures audiendi, audiat” was released on April 1st. Link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nmIoioejH2aT6WqLtXahbZsQj2dFx0O-8
While a new (correct) profile was created on Spotify, the release ended up on the wrong channels across almost all other streaming services. On YouTube, it was delivered to this Topic Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgrYONXQN2YqpgD4tiJHKyg
This is not my channel and belongs to a different artist with the same name.
The correct YouTube channel where this release belongs is:
https://www.youtube.com/@MadAlienofficial
Although this is not yet an Official Artist Channel (OAC), you can see from the existing uploads (some dating back over 10 years) that this is the rightful home for the new album.
The Issue: There is another youtube User using the name “Mad Alien,” which is why I use the handle @MadAlienofficial. Because of this mix-up, YouTube even blocked a Short on my own channel (a promo for the release) because it exceeded 60 seconds and iMusician now holds the rights via Content ID, flagging it against my own content.
My Questions:
- Is it possible to move the release to a separate, correct Topic Channel (on YouTube and other platforms) to stay distinct from the other artist?
- Alternatively, can this release be linked to my actual channel (https://www.youtube.com/@MadAlienofficial), perhaps by helping me convert it into an Official Artist Channel?
I am on the “Starter” plan and noticed that some links regarding OAC requests in the forum are leading to 404 pages, which is why I am reaching out here.
Thank you very much for your help!
Best regards, Raico Ebel
