I’m looking for some advice, as I’m very close to my release date and haven’t yet received a definitive reply from customer support.
Here’s the situation: I decided to have my track professionally remastered by someone highly recommended, as I wasn’t happy with the quality of the original master. Unfortunately, the version currently scheduled for release — including pre-orders and pitching to stores/channels — is the original version.
This has put me in a tricky spot. I’ve held off on fully promoting the release because I wasn’t satisfied with the sound. Now I realise I’ve missed some important opportunities — particularly the chance to pitch for a feature on platforms like Traxsource or Beatport, which can only happen pre-release. So even if I did manage to swap the file, that window has passed.
To complicate things further, it looks like I’ve also missed the deadline for a file replacement, and I understand that a full takedown and re-upload could take weeks. I’ve already done some light promotion around the original release date, so shifting timelines now might come across as confusing.
One option I’m considering is releasing the remastered version as a separate mix — something like a “Deep Mix” or “Club Mix” — to distinguish it from the “Original Mix.” I would definitely take down the original after that, regardless. I’d also like to keep the same artwork, perhaps with some minor tweaks to colour or layout to help differentiate the two versions.
If anyone has dealt with something similar or has suggestions on the best way to handle this, I’d really appreciate your input.
Thanks for reaching out and sharing all the details.
You’ve actually got a few options here:
Release the remaster as a separate mix (like “Deep Mix” or “Club Mix”) — that’s definitely possible. Just keep in mind that editorial pitching and Spotify pitching is only available before the initial release date, so it wouldn’t apply to the new version.
Replace the audio file before release — since you’re an Amplify+ subscriber, this kind of change is free. If your release date is very close, the release might still go live with the original file, but we’ll replace it manually within a couple of days.
Postpone the release — this gives you enough time to upload the final master and submit your pitch to editorial playlists. Again, this change is also free with your Amplify+ plan. That said, I don’t know the exact timing of your release, so it’s best to check this with our support team to confirm what’s possible.
Yeah, unfortunately, option 1 isn’t ideal — I’d be missing out on that crucial editorial pitching window, which is so important at this stage of my growth as an artist.
Option 2 has a similar downside. While it’s great that the audio file can be replaced, I haven’t done any promotion or submitted for any featured listings yet. So unless there’s a way to retroactively access those opportunities, it still feels like a missed shot.
Postponing would’ve been the perfect solution — it would have given me time to upload the final master and do everything properly, including editorial pitching. But since I’m still waiting on a reply from customer support, I feel like that’s probably off the table now too.
I’m still waiting for a response from the support team (I had already contacted them many days before I made this community post) — it’s been several days since I last heard anything, and unfortunately, the situation has now escalated beyond what was necessary. This has become messier than it needed to be, and honestly, it could have been resolved quite easily with clear and timely customer service - like what you gave. Now we’re in a strange and frustrating position.
I’m genuinely disappointed by the lack of care shown towards both myself and my project. It’s left me feeling pretty disheartened. My original point of contact was Veronica, but I haven’t heard anything since.
As a result, the wrong version of my track has been released, and I still have no clarity on what I should do next to address the issue. A reply from Veronica—or anyone on the support team—would be incredibly helpful at this point.
If I’ve now lost the ability to pre-promote any updated version of the track, that’s understandably upsetting. Being a small independent artist is already challenging enough without added obstacles like this.
I’m following up again because I still haven’t received any response from customer support via email, despite being an Amplify+ customer and having reached out multiple times. Have you all gone on holiday or something?
Unfortunately, the release has now gone live with the wrong version of the track — something I had explicitly asked to postpone or correct well in advance. While the support here on the forum was incredibly helpful (thank you again for that), it’s honestly quite surreal that the only meaningful guidance I’ve received has come through this public space, while the direct support I’m paying for has remained completely silent.
At this point, ANY communication at all would be appreciated. The lack of response is becoming genuinely bizarre, and it’s left me feeling completely in the dark about what, if anything, is being done behind the scenes.
I also want to be clear — I’m not someone who complains easily or looks to stir up issues. I’ve always spoken highly of iMusician, and I just renewed my Amplify+ subscription because I genuinely believe in the platform. But this has been extremely disappointing and has seriously affected what was a rare and important release for me.
I’d really appreciate if this could be escalated internally. All I’m looking for now is:
Clear communication
A proper resolution
A way to move forward without further harm to the release
I’m frankly perplexed at lack of communication. It’s making me out to be a bonkers sort when all I want is help and guidance.
I’m a bit puzzled about the timeline you’ve described so far… Our support team has been asking you to provide the new audio files since July 28th and we still haven’t received anything from you in that regard.
Also, forgive my question but why would you schedule a release containing audio files you’re not satisfied with in the first place ?
