Hello iMusician team,
I’m asking for clarification regarding iMusician’s Terms of Service and whether my music production workflow could violate your rules on AI-generated content.
I recently submitted my first song to iMusician for distribution. Afterward, I noticed this clause in your Terms of Service:
“Also, any activity that was performed by a non-human (f.e. AI for content creation, bots for stream boosting etc.) on our app or any third party platforms (such as service providers like Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music etc.) will result in immediate account blocking.”
My situation is the following:
- I wrote the lyrics myself.
- I worked on the song for about one and a half months.
- I used Suno AI as part of the creation process.
- I am on the Suno Premier plan.
- I created a custom model on Suno AI.
- The music used for the custom model was AI-generated instrumental music, but I edited and modified it myself in REAPER.
- I created an AI voice clone of my own voice.
- The voice clone was based on my own imperfect singing, not someone else’s voice.
- The final song consists of my own lyrics, my own AI voice clone, and AI-generated / AI-assisted music created through Suno AI.
- iMusician did not ask during the upload or submission process whether the song was created with AI or assisted by AI.
I am not trying to hide anything or commit fraud. I am asking because I want to understand whether this workflow violates iMusician’s Terms of Service and whether the song could be taken down, blocked, or cause my account to be frozen later.
My main concern is that the wording “AI for content creation” sounds very broad. I do not know whether this refers mainly to fully automated AI spam, unauthorized voice cloning, bot activity, copyright infringement, or whether it prohibits any music production workflow involving AI tools.
My questions are:
- Would this workflow count as prohibited AI-generated content under iMusician’s Terms of Service?
- Does the fact that I wrote the lyrics myself and worked on the song for around one and a half months make any difference?
- Does it matter that the AI voice clone is based on my own voice and not another artist’s voice?
- Does editing and modifying the AI-generated instrumental material in REAPER make the release more likely to be considered human-created or AI-assisted rather than fully AI-generated?
- Since I already paid for the release through iMusician, what is the safest thing to do now?
- Should I request a takedown myself before there is a problem?
- If this release is not allowed under your Terms of Service, is there any possibility of a refund, credit, or another resolution?
And what about my iMusician account? If this type of release cannot be distributed through iMusician under your Terms of Service, then the account would no longer be useful for my current music project. In that case, I would like to know whether it is possible to close or delete my account, and what the correct process would be.
I would appreciate a clear answer so I can handle the release correctly and avoid violating your Terms of Service.
Edit: I requested a take down of my song. I provided the song for distribution on April 23rd 2026, release date was May 20th 2026.
Thank you.
