Request to Create My Own Amplify Account While Keeping My Existing Artist Profile

Dear iMusician Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

My artist profile is currently managed by my musical partner through his Amplify Pro account. He created my artist profile within his subscription, and we currently share the royalties from our co-composed releases on a 50/50 basis .

I would now like to subscribe to my own Amplify plan so that I can independently manage my artist profile and release my own music in the future.

Before subscribing, I would appreciate your guidance regarding the following points:

  1. **Can I open my own Amplify account while keeping my existing artist identity and artist profiles on all streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, etc.)?**I would also like to keep the current royalty split for the existing catalogue that was released through my partner’s account, where he is currently the primary account holder. My goal is to continue using the same artist name and maintain the same artist profiles across all digital platforms.

  2. Will I be able to release future projects from my own Amplify account while preserving my existing artist identity?

If any transfer or migration process is required, could you please let me know the recommended procedure to ensure that my artist profile and catalogue remain intact?

Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to your advice.

Kind regards. Anita

Hello @Anitabarbereau,

Yes.

Yes.

Do you intend to migrate the catalogue that’s already been distributed through your partner’s account or only distribute new tracks from your own profile?

Hi Carlos, thanks indeed for your answer, I do not intend to migrate the catalogue that’s already been distributed through my partner (we have about 18 tracks); I only intend potentially in the future to add new tracks from my own profile but of course want to ensure my (same artist profile) would appear on both the existing catalogue and the newt tracks to be submitted. Once I have filled and opened my account, I imagine I will need to contact someone at i-Musician to ensure my existing artist profile if copied on this account. (Sorry if my question seems a bit simple or silly but it is not that obvious to me and I prefer to ask before making any potential mistake…). Kind Regards. Anita

PS: CArlos one precision, What do you mean by “migrating my existing catalogue”, if I open my own account, I would like to ensure my co composed catalogue appears both on my existing partner as well as on my account so anyone looking at my profile would see all I have done (existing catalogue and newt tracks).

I mean that the releases that were distributed by your partner will remain on their iMusician account.

This means that they will continue to receive the corresponding revenue and they will be responsible for sharing this revenue with you based on your agreements. You will not be seeing or receiving the sales reports and trend analytics for these releases on your new iMusician account.

When it comes to your public profiles on the DSPs, that’s a different matter unrelated to the iMusician account. If you keep using the same artist name when distributing from your new account, nothing will change on that regard and the content will continue being mapped to the existing profiles.

Best regards,
