Set of questions regarding changes to release, label, and DSP

Dear iMusician team and fellow music creators,

I have a set of questions regarding iMusician’s distribution service, I hope you can help me find the answers!

— I have several releases being processed at the moment at iMusician. Some of them are already ‘Delivered’, while some others are ‘Paid - In Quality Check’. I noticed that the ones in quality check allow some changes in the tracks, such as Contributors and Performers, while the ones delivered do not allow any changes. This makes sense. My question is that, if I change the Contributors and/or Performers on the releases in quality check, will these changes be visible when delivered to the stores, even though the changes were made after being initially submitted for delivery? I believe the answer is ‘yes’, but I’d like to confirm.

— I’ve recently submitted a release that was initially released in 2022 through another distributor. I added this info while submitting the track on iMusician (see image 1), but the info on the website indicates that the copyright notice will have 2026 on it instead of 2022 (see image 2). Why is that?

— iMusician Support FAQs indicate that customers of the AMPLIFY subscription can include personalized labels on their releases (see image 3). However, when I tried to submit a new release, I got a banner (see image 4) requesting a payment of 20€ and indicating that I was on the Starter tier, even though I am an AMPLIFY customer. I believe this may be a bug. May you guys fix it, so I can submit my new release with the customized label name? Thanks in advance!

— Also, I can’t add the ISNI of my label (see image 5). I understand the shared message, but it is a bit weird because this is possible on active Artists and Contributors, but not on active Labels. Is it supposed to be this way, or is it a small bug? If possible, I’d like to add the ISNI to the Label, which is the exact same as the Artist ISNI. Thanks in advance!

— Finally, I would like to ask about the dynamics with DSP. When iMusician partners with a new DSP, do my previous releases get distributed there, or only the ones released after the start of the partnership? How does it work?

Hello @EduardoDeCastroMota,

Yes

That’s odd. Let me check with our team, I’ll let you know once I have more news on this.

Thanks for pointing this out, there was a mistake in the FAQ which we’ve now corrected. As shown on our pricing page, custom label names are only included for AMPLIFY+ and AMPLIFY Pro users. We notified our dev team about the misleading message suggesting that you downgraded to Starter.

You cannot have the same ISNI for two different entities. Your artist name and label require distinct numbers.

Your releases will automatically be distributed to new DSPs.

Kind regards,

Dear Carlos,

Thank you for your reply.

I look forward to hearing back from you regarding the copyright notice year in the release.

Considering that I am an independent artist and my label is also under my name, wouldn’t it make sense to allow the same ISNI to be used for both the artist and the label? They are, after all, the same name.

Best regards,
Eduardo de Castro Mota

Yes, but they represent two different entities. You cannot have the same ISNI number for two different entities, even if they share the same name.

Dear @Carlos,

I see. In this case, I’m thinking of leaving the label without an ISNI. I predict this won’t cause any problems, especially taking into consideration that the label is related to a single artist. Do you agree?

Best regards,
Eduardo de Castro Mota

Yes, I agree
