Someone posted an album via this platform using my name

It’s called “Surprise -EP” and it’s being listed with my albums. I don’t want this album included with my discography. How can I contact the artist? Otherwise my attorney is going to contact iMusician.

hi @evano , I’m tagging @Carlos from the Team to help you with this :v:

Hey @evano, thank you for reaching out!

That happens often when artists are using a generic name that’s already taken by someone else. This is just a matter of the shops misattributing someone else’s music to your profile because you share the same name. I don’t understand why you’d involve your attorney in this :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

To remove the release from your profile, you must contact Amazon directly by following these steps: FAQs - Amazon Music for Artists

Their catalog experts will investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible (it can take up to 4 weeks for the changes to reflect on Amazon Music).

@carlos, thank you for your response. I’m asking for your help with information about the person(s) who uploaded the album “Surprise Ep” by Evan Olson so that I may contact them in regards to a misattribution claim and trademark infringement. Would you please provide a contact email or phone number where I can reach out to them? I’ve been releasing music under my name for 25 years. This album is being included with my music on all platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and You Tube and it needs to be addressed to prevent confusion.

With Gratitude,
Evan

Hello @evano,

If you suspect that someone is infringing on your copyright, you must file a claim directly in the shops as explained here: How To Make a Legal Claim? | Music Releases | iMusician

I would like to clarify something else. The fact that you have been distributing music under this name for 25 years does not give you any legitimate right to claim you own it. Unless you have gone through a proper and legally approved trademark registration, you are not entitled to claim this is trademark infringement
