Hey,
my release passed the imusician quality control on the 3rd of june, and now I am waiting for more information about the release on spotify.
I want to pitch a song for the playlists, and am afraid it will be published on another day than It said in the beginning, and then will be too short term for pitching a track on the spotify artists page which is 3 weeks before the drop. on my imusician site it told me the 4th of july, but i still cannot see that spotify is informed about my release on my spotify account. (i did this before with another distributor, so i know how it works)
I want to be sure, that it will be definetly released with enough time for after quality control of where my release is stuck now, to be pitched on spotify.
Since otherwise i would like a refund, because that was the initial reason for me to use this service with i musician.
Also i thought if i pitch a song for 20€ it will be getting in the playlist but it was declined so I also would like a refund for that if possible.
I hope for a quick reply since this is really not the best way to treat customers unfortunately. Even free distrubutors have an email to send questions to.
I hope you understand my desperation and I know the people working for this service are not the ones making these descisions, so nothing personal to you.
Best M (they/ them)
Your release is not “stuck”, it has been delivered to all the shops on 03.06.2025. Regarding the pitch, you have already been notified via email (also on the 03.06.2025) that unfortunately it wasn’t selected.
You can still pitch it via Spotify for Artists though. Just follow these steps to claim your profile and do the pitch:
on my spotify artist account there are no upcoming releases.
What exactly means delivered to all the shops here?
Where can I see the status when it will be dropped on Spotify for example?
@aaakzt this is the profile Spotify assigned the release to: Unsupported browser. You can request access to this profile and you’ll have access to all the details + pitching form in Spotify for Artists.
Delivered means that the release and all the corresponding metadata has been transferred to the platforms, which then are responsible of linking it to existing profiles/new profiles and uploading it at the selected date.
Yes that is my profile, and I have access to it, but there are no upcoming releases, and also nothing released yet. So when can I expect any news and who can provide these?
this is the wrong profile that probably got auto created or somehting? and apparently you can create several profiles with the same name unlike on instagram or something? which I also don’t have access to.
this is my profile that I was expecting to be used for my release, where I want to pitch a Song before the release.
a Link to the release is not there yet since it is not out yet.
Here are some links that IDK if you can open, but I got them from Imusician a month ago (3rd of June):
During the order of your release, you haven’t specified that you already had a Spotify profile for aaktz therefore the platform has attributed your release to this new artist profile.
This is Spotify’s mistake. Therefore, it doesn’t make sense for us to cover for their error and issue a refund, since the release was delivered on our end using the information you provided — or rather, the lack thereof.
I’m sorry about your pitching, but at this point we can only forward a request to Spotify so they can fix their mistake. Hopefully they’ll be able to take care of it before the release date, but I cannot guarantee it’ll be the case.
I see, if this really was asked like this and I did not check it I understand how it happened.
On another term, after latest AI military headlines from Spotify I also feel less like I want to support it anymore. Will this suffice as reason for the refund if I would like to stop the process altogether? @Carlos
I don’t know what your policy is until when I can cancel the order.
If that is not the case, then Spotify can just leave it with this new Account but provide me the login details so I have access.
Thank you for the patience with this case
Hey @aaakzt we’ve sent the request to Spotify and they should have reassigned the release to your profile already. You should see the release pop up in your Upcoming section in the next couple of days!
PS: I’m afraid we don’t have a “DSP finances AI military” refund clause in our T&Cs
