I’m considering switching part of my label’s catalog from another distributor. These are existing releases with active streams, playlist placements, and original ISRCs.
Can you confirm if iMusician allows:
• Uploading releases with existing ISRCs
• Retaining stream counts and playlist spots
• Linking to the current versions on DSPs
Or is takedown + re-upload mandatory?
This is a crucial part of my decision. Looking forward to your clarification.
We allow uploads with existing ISRCs, but only if there have been no changes to the metadata in the meantime (otherwise it creates conflicts).
The retention of streams and playlist placements is, in theory, automatic if you keep your ISRCs when you re-distribute the tracks. However, this relies on the DSPs and this independent of us so we cannot guarantee anything unfortunately.
I don’t understand what you mean by Linking to the current versions on DSPs.
In any case, takedown + re-upload is mandatory in order to re-distribute your tracks with us
We cannot distribute content if it’s still online through another distributor. If our quality assurance team notices that the content is already online, the delivery of the release will be put on hold until the previous version is removed from all shops.
As I said before, a prior takedown is required in order to re-distribute your tracks with us.
