Takedown for unauthorised release

Hey,

Someone has distributed my music through your distributor and I request a takedown.

Here is the music name at your distributor: “Potsdam - KurzZeitReisen”

It is a flute music I made using open source software LMMS and dizi flute. I uploaded to YouTube and Pixabay in April 2023.

Myself (and other creators) got hit with a false copyright claim this July 2025.

Of course, I’m not ok with my music being released commercially with copyright on it.

So my question is: how to have it remove?

If you distribute your music on Pixabay, hasn’t it become royalty-free?

They can use it in monetised videos or projects but cannot copyright it to their name through a distributor, it’s a big difference.

The Pixabay license grants you a license to use the content, not ownership of the copyright itself.

It’s free of copyright claim only.

How can people use it in their content if there’s now an unfair copyright. It should remain non copyrighted.

Pixabay terms:
“You cannot sell or distribute the Content (either in digital or physical form) on a Standalone basis When we refer to “Standalone” we mean where no creative effort has been applied to the Content and it remains in substantially the same form as it exists on the Service”.

Thanks.

They are German so I commented their video in German and kindly asked to remove it from imusician but they removed my comment.

Hey @NourishedBM,

Please report this directly to YouTube by filing the dedicated form: Submit a copyright removal request - YouTube Help

I have already disputed the claim on YouTube but this is not what I’m only asking actually.

Other people will still have the copyright claim if it not lifted for everyone.

The music needs to be removed from your distributor for ALL plarforms, not only YouTube.

As you can see, the copyright issue also appears on TikTok and probably more music platforms.

So, disputing a claim on YouTube only remove the claim but it does not remove the copyright entirely.

@NourishedBM then you must file a copyright claim on all the other shops as well.

I don’t know the name of all music platforms where my music is being unlawfully distributed to. Assist me here.

I am not sure this approach is justified once I’ve already notified you of the infringement.

Isn’t there an easier, more reasonable way to fix this, since I have evidence?

One of your users has clearly distributed this track without authorisation, in breach of both your Terms of Use and the Pixabay licence.

So, am I really required to dispute each one manually and prove my case repeatedly?

I could dispute on one platform and you take care of the rest.

You have allowed the music to be distributed giving ownership to your user and are therefore responsible now that I have notified you.

On your Website, it says:

[Fraudulent activity clause]
“We reserve the right to block your account if we suspect fraudulent activity or if a copyright claim has been made against you.”

That’s precisely why you need to file a proper copyright claim in order for us to take action.

You can start with Spotify (access the form here) and we’ll contact the artist once we receive the claim. If we conclude that they didn’t hold the necessary rights to distribute these recordings, we’ll take them down from all DSPs.

Ok, I have just submitted the form to Spotify.

Understand me, I want to be sure that your user will not do this again with other music. I also do this for everyone that’s been impacted.

Thousands downloaded the track since 2023 and it has given them copyright issues only recently and damaged my credibility at the same time.
