The terms for changing a genre on Beatport via iMusician

Hi @Melani ,

  1. Are all changes, including the genre, a paid option if I don’t have a subscription?
  2. I’m curious, if Beatport moderators have incorrectly defined the genre and I can only request changes through iMusician, why do I have to pay?

Hi @ellmny, thanks for the tag! What is the barcode of your release? And what is the genre you selected?

It must be said that Beatport could re-assign your release under the genre they think is the most correct, as they have subgenres that are not availble in our selection.

Regarding the change, if you needs to change the genre as you entered. then it is a modification and has an additional cost. You can request the change, please open the release > Edit > Request Change.

Barcodes & genres:

5056777763377 / Selected Electronic, but in iMusician it means also Dance thats not right for me. Correct genre only Electronic or Melodic House & Techno. In Beatport selected Dance/Pop it is far from the truth.

5056777766712 / The same, selected Electronic and it also mean Dance, thats wrong. Need to be only Electronic. In Beatport Dance/Pop – thats incorrect.

I am certain that the upcoming release, which is set to be out on October 25th, will face the same issue, the barcode is 5056777776018. The genre I need for this release is Breaks / Breakbeat.
