Want to make sure new ep links to already established Spotify URI

i have 6 albums that have been hosted on an older artist page which I’m trying to move to my newer artist page. my previous page was called matthew squires and the learning disorders. the newer page is called Matthew Squires.

I had distributed these albums through CDbaby years ago. I have asked them to move them over for me and they have not responded to me for months, so I’ve finally decided to try to redistribute them through a new distributor.

I am doing a test run with one EP. I just want to make sure the EP i just uploaded arrives at the following spotify account: spotify:artist:4uRBdmKX2bnYn3jsBa2AYy

I was asked to enter the artist name (which i did) but not a URI. Just want to make sure I don’t accidentally create a second artist page with the same name for this release.

Thank you!
-Matthew

Hello @immattsquires, thanks for reaching out.

Before you proceed with your order, please take the time to read this article carefully: I have changed my Artist Name — what should I do? | iMusician

As you’ve changed your release’s metadata by using another artist name, you can no longer use the old ISRCs and EAN/UPC barcode that were provided by CDBaby. This means that unfortunately your streams and playlistings will be lost.

Unfortunately, re-using your old codes will cause metadata mismatches and potential issues with the different shops.

Hi there. I am uploading an EP that was previously released under my old band name. I now want it to be listed with my other albums in my newer band page on spotify. I have the uri to the correct page i want my EP to be displayed on on spotify, but I was never asked to enter it when I uploaded my EP. Can Customer support email me so that I can send them the URI where I want to make sure this EP ends up?

Thank you!

Oh hi thanks for responding to me, I just saw this.

can i change the name to my older old band name (matthew squires and the learning disorders) and you all just make sure to map it to the newer uri? spotify support told me if you send it in this way that they will make sure its linked to my proper page

I will go in and change the name to my older band name if you all can confirm it will still get sent to this page

spotify:artist:4uRBdmKX2bnYn3jsBa2AYy

Hello @immattsquires , as we mentioned, to avoid conflicts, you must create the releases with the original metadata. Once live, we can suggest a change to the new artist’s profile, given that it already exists.
I would suggest you start delivering your music with us and opt for an AMPLIFY plan, so that you get email support and guidance.
