I am trying to understand how the number of streams, recorded by Spotify, is reported by iMusician in Analitycs, because the numbers are completely different.
I waited 5 days for the numbers to be stable to do this observation
For example, on the Spotify for Artist graph, we see that on August 1st, there were 94 streams, but iMusician counts 0.
The numbers reported by iMusician are different, too, on the following days. They are lower from August 1st:
Streams count :
How can this difference be explained?
Can this be linked to the “We are currently testing a new system for retrieving your trends.” message displayed in the Analytics page ?
Release information :
Album : First
Artist Name : Ground Noise
EAN : 4066218963083
It must be said that our Music Analytics tool is retrieving the data with a delay at least 2-5 business days, while Spotify should provide such information in real time.
It also happens that streams count could be adjusted with a but of time, we always suggest to compare the streams after a timeframe of a month, as counts happened for example at the end of the month can be counted on the beginning on the next months.
Plus, our Analytics tool is currently under development. Our engineers are working on it to make it more efficient and precise. Therefore, not accurate results can be displayed as also stating on the message in the banner.
I would advise you to give it a bit more to time to check the streams on the days you reported and also refer to the fact that not every stream is being paid and this is a mere decision of Spotify itself.
I have the impression that iMusician Analitics no longer counts my Spotify streams since August 1st(but I don’t have the detailed Music Analytics to check my thoughts) waited 5 days for the numbers to be stable to do this observation.
Do you mean that the number of streams displayed in the iMusician graph are the “payable” streams only, while the Spotify for Artist graph displays all “payables” and “non-payables” streams?
Could this explain the difference?
I hope that analytics will be corrected, because there have been big differences since the beginning of the month. For example for August 5th:
Spotify display 194 streams, but iMusician reports 12 streams only
Hey @Ground_Noise Laurent, thanks for the fast response.
I see the difference and as for today, only a couple of business days have passed. Better to wait until the mid of the month to check discrepancies of the beginning of a month.
I will keep this thread open and we could make a cross analysis from the 15th of August for this release 4066218963083. You can tag me again by the mid of the month!
Concerning the “payable” streams, Music Analytics and Spotify Analytics show all streams. However, it is the shop itself to calculate and send us the payable streams. This type of information is unknown until we/you receive the sales report.
