Youtube Shorts and Content ID

I am a musician creating original music, and a YouTube channel owner(my friend) I collaborate with will be using my music in their YouTube Shorts. I am interested in working with your platform and would like to clarify a few key points:

  1. Can I manually claim videos that use my music?
  2. Will I be able to track the views and revenue generated from my music in real time through your dashboard? This feature is very important to me.

Additionally, if all my music is managed through your platform, would you be able to offer a customized agreement? I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further.

Looking forward to your response.

Hello @coryaslan, thanks for reaching out!

  1. It depends, will you activate the Content ID monetisation?
  2. You will be able to track your trends for certain platforms and your revenue, but not in real time. Trends are reported to us with a delay of 5-7 days, sales are uploaded 4 months ater the actual stream/download was made.
  3. What exactly do you mean by “customised agreement”?

I want to activate content id monetisation and generate revenue from the videoss that use my music. Since some of my friends have youtube channels, I will know which videos will use my music, and I want to make a claim on those video manually without waiting the automatic claims which can take weeks sometimes.
I am not interested in the sales on other platforms. I just want to know how frequently Imusician makes youtube content id claim payments to music creators ? And can I see the videos that use my music in my dashboard without delay.
By customised aggrement I meant is there a way to have a special cut rate on content id royalty revenues, since I will be doing this ina large scale, potentially 100m+ streams will be generated for my music.

ok, thank you for your precisions @coryaslan!

  1. To monetize your music with YouTube’s Content ID, you are required to distribute your music to YouTube/YouTube Music so keep that in mind.
  2. You will receive copyright claims anytime YouTube’s algorithm detects your music on someone’s video.
  3. I don’t understand what you mean by “can I see the videos that use my music in my dashboard without delay” ?
  4. The offers we’re able to make are the ones you see on our pricing page. There’s a 20% commission on CID revenue, regardless of the subscription plan

I understand thank you. What I mean by that statement is that, how long it take for me to see “copyright claims detected by youtube” in my dashboard. Can I make manual claims to the videos using my music, by sharing the link for you, to not wait for automatic detection.
And what is the payment period for content id loyalties. Do I get paid monthly ?

  1. But which dashboard are you referring to?
  2. No, you cannot make manual claims, this is done only with YouTube’s detection algorithm.
  3. YouTube CID revenue is being sent to us quite late these days actually. Usually it’s 4 months after the sale was detected (e.g. March CID revenue is deposited on your iMusician account in July) but lately it’s more of a 7 months delay (e.g. March CID revenue is deposited on your iMusician account in October).
