Hi, I’m filling out the google form to request my Youtube OAC. However, for this particular question…
“Link to your Artist - Topic Channel *
External channel ID for the artist’s YouTube Music artist page: You can check for an artist page by searching the artist’s name in YouTube Music, clicking on the corresponding artist profile, and taking the channel ID shown on the artist’s Remix page.”
When I search for my artist name in YouTube Music, I see my album and all the tracks, and even see that my artist name is listed as the artist (Shuttle Option) but that name is not clickable, and when I filter the search to profiles, there is no profile listed for me there. Am I doing something wrong or is there another way to sort out what my Artist - Topic channel URL?
Not sure if this helps, but when I search for one of my tracks on the album on YouTube (not specifically YouTube music) I am also able to see the album there, but the artist channel is listed as “Release - Topic”. When I click on that channel, I am able to get a channel URL for that one. Would that work for this form?
I understand that, but still curious how to answer the question on the form. Can you help clarify the best way to answer that question on the form?
And while we’re at it, can I subscribe to Amplify for one year to get an OAC, and then cancel it after I have submitted the form? And would that negatively affect anything regarding my album that I just released on your Rockstar tier? For instance, would cancelling the Amplify subscription cause that album release to fall to your Starter tier or something?
You need to provide the URL to your Artist - Topic channel. The URL you’ve provided doesn’t work as it’s a Release - Topic channel. You canno request an OAC if you don’t have an Artist - Topic channel.
How do I find my Artist - Topic channel? I was under the impression that iMusician was responsible for creating that considering my music was distributed to YouTube through iMusician and this is my first release? My release is listed in YouTube and YouTube Music. Why would there not be an Artist - Topic channel?
If it’s up to me, how do I create an Artist - Topic channel?
To clarify, I do have my own YouTube channel that fits all the requirements on my end for an OAC (channel is in my artist name, contains at least one music video, etc.)
